Preventing Harassment Including Sexual Harassment
NHCC is committed to providing a work environment that is free of discrimination and unlawful harassment.
NHCC is responsible for:
Having anti-harassment policies in place
Having reporting procedures in place and communicating these procedures to employees
Investigating complaints
Taking prompt and remedial action to stop the harassment, even when done by a non-employee
Employees have a duty to avoid engaging in harassment and use our complaint procedures to report harassment.
If you believe you have been subject to harassment:
Tell the offending party that the behavior in unwelcome and to stop immediately.
Document the incident (Date, time, place and names of observers, in any).
Report the behavior to your supervisor, administrator or Human Resources.
Use NHCC complaint procedures.
Cooperate in the investigation.
Complaint Procedures
First, verbally Inform your supervisor, administrator or Human Resources and attempt to resolve the issue. If the outcome of the verbal reporting is not satisfactory:
Make a written complaint to your immediate supervisor.
Your supervisor will arrange a meeting with you, your supervisor or branch administrator to discuss workable solutions.
If no resolution is reached, file a written report to the chief executive officer.
Administrative staff will set a resolution meeting within 14 business days and notify the parties, in writing, no less than 5 days prior to the meeting.
If no resolution is reached, you may file a written complaint to the Board of Directors.
The complaint will be addressed by the Board of Directors at the next regularly scheduled Board meeting.
